Sunglasses Find a style that puts all others in the shade
Initially it was the fashion garments, then came the shoes followed by women’s inner wear, some great watches and time pieces. Now to complete one’s ‘perfect’ looks, we have an invasion of designer handbags and eyewear range by MNCs!
And like shoes and dress material, the handbags come in a variety of colours and texture. The huge range of colours that the bags come in include black, brown, green, grey, tan, orange, beige, aquamarine, lilac pink, fuchsia, moss green, royal blue… well the list goes on. But mind you the bags, especially the designer ones – like Vuitton, Prada, Chanel, Dior, Christian Spade, Gucci, Burberry – are highly priced.
Cheemo, known for its designer handbags, has recently launched its Spring Summer collection 2008. Its bags are elegantly hand crafted and hand embroidered and come in a wide range of patterns and styles. A highlight of its bags is the fact that Cheemo’s in-house designing team translates the latest world fashion into high quality handbags, which are available at Select City Walk Mall, Saket.Kipling, the well known women’s casual bag brand, to mark its 20th anniversary, has introduced few ‘collectable’ limited edition bags and wallets. The bags are timeless and crafted out of genuine soft leather with qualitative finishin. Prices range from Rs.3200 to 13500 and the bags are available at West Gate Mall, Shivaji Palace, District Centre Shopping Mall, Raja Garden and Select City Walk Mall, Saket.
The children’s concept store, ‘Lola’s World’ at Hauz Khas Village, though typically specialises in general merchandise for kids, has launched its women’s fashion and accessories collection from the exclusive ‘Nana Ki’ brand for the first time in India offering among other things some exquisite hand bags.
Another famous brand, Fendi, has a roll bag. Elegant and functional, this shopping bag fits cosily under the arm and, as its name suggests, can be rolled shrinking in size. Incidentally Fendi has also come out with its Selleria sunglasses, where high quality acetate is combined with rare horn. It comes in three colour varieties, black, green and burgundy and in two shapes – one more oversize and one smaller. The Fendi Selleria is identified with the metal trademark stitching along the bar. Just Cavalli has come out with men’s Aviator Summer 2008 collection. Made of specially designed material to provide lightness, comfort and mechanical sturdiness, these aviator sunglasses feature a metal frame, logo embossed at the temples, and gradient lenses with 100 per cent UV protection. With a magnetic-closure case and an eye wear cleansing cloth. It is priced Rs.8000 onwards and available at all leading optical outlets.
The eyewear collection by Dolce&Gabbana for this season includes six unique models intended for both men and women. Precious details personalise the sunglass frames with modernity and unmistakable elegance and graphic details created with shimmering Swarovski crystals arranged in a linear fashion or with a floral motif.
The famous Ermenegildo Zegna 2008 collection of eyewear has as many as 17 models. The collection is marked by luxurious materials, sleek lines and the latest fashion trends. Materials like acetate, aluminium and rubber are co-injected to create a perfect unison of styles. The range is available in a variety of colour combination.
And Mojo is the first Indian eye wear brand going international with its eyewear created using the best material available. All Mojo products use the best Polaroid, CR39 and polycarbonate lenses which are 100 per cent UV protected and distortion free to give the eyes that extra comfort and cool in the sweltering heat. Available at Globus, Indiabulls, Shoppers Stop and Westside, prices range from Rs.1200 to 2400.
