POLLACHI: The Information Technology industry will soon move from the present position as solution providers to product providers, said Milind Chalisgoankar, Chief Executive Officer of Axa India, Bangalore, here on Saturday.
In his valedictory address at the National Conference on Computing and Communication at Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology, Mr. Chalisgoankar said computing and communication technology could be used to improve crop yield.
Super-computers could predict weather and crop patterns. He said that young scientists and engineers should realise that there was still scope for break-through changes.
He asked the students to develop communication skills, stick to work ethics and be team persons.
Director (academic) of MCET Dr. S. Vijayarangan, principal Dr. S. Muthu and A. Gowrishankar, head of the department of information technology spoke.
