Funkier and bigger

Bangles now in a new, chic avatar

All round style Now wear bangles with trousers too

Remember when you wore bangles only with saris and salwar suits? Well, times have changed people! Bangles now go with almost anything from denims to mini skirts and are back in bigger, funkier avatars. Forget thin bangles and look for big, chunky, co lourful ones the next time you go shopping. This is the best way to add that ‘wow’ factor to your look.

By sporting colourful, attractive bangles in bright shades and patterns you can add a much needed dash of colour to the drab monsoon landscape. Wear your attitude on your wrists by using these accessories in unusual designs and sizes.

They’re available in metal, plastic, glass, wood and even jute and give the casual yet chic look with very little effort.

These bangles are available everywhere in a wide range of designs to suit your budget. “They’re priced from Rs. 10 to around Rs. 150 and are a fast selling segment among youngsters,” according to Shabeer , an employee at an accessory store.

Namitha Correya, a college student says, “heavy plastic bangles are the hottest trend among our age group. They carry a certain attitude and make a bold style statement. And of course these single, large bangles are easier to put on than a number of ordinary ones!”

Pair them with denim and a Tee shirt or casual skirts. Go for plastic or wood bangles in the infinitely cool black or in cheerful, bright colours to give that casual look. Mix and match then according to your attire and mood.

Keep an eye out for unique designs and let you motto be ‘the bigger the better’. For kurtas and colourful ethnic wear, pick out wood or jute bangles with traditional designs and colours.

For the evening try something in metallic colours like gold, silver etc. in neat, broad designs. Pair them with elegant, simple kurtas in plain ivory, black, royal purple etc. Stay away from dangly bangles that are not in vogue.

Stand out from among the crowd by experimenting with these fantastic accessories in your own unique way.
