Such a long journey
This has been the century of the refugee and June 20 is World Refugee Day. Among the many who have sought refuge here are Sri Lankan Tamils and Tibetans. And among them are women who have unceasingly spoken about places where things fall apart — ; homes, relationships and identities. These women working both in Sri Lanka and India have been the voice of protest, demanding more for vulnerable women refugees. Their stories are an archaeology of the oppressed and they inhabit the world of exile . But women refugees have found power thanks to the sisterhood who has pitched in to help, refusing to let them become another post-colonial saga.
