`Music direction is a tough job'
Karthik seems to be a man of few words. He prefers to let his songs speak for him. Within a short period of time, Karthik, who made his debut in 1999, has made it as one of the most successful singers in South India. As Karthik rewinds to his firs t recording with Rahman, Chitra Iyer, who shot to fame with her `Ishatham alla da... ' song in Malayalam, peppers him with questions. Chitra and Karthik, who sung together in `Star,' `Boys' and `Kangalal Kaidhi Sei,' talk shop as Saraswathy Na garajan tunes in. The venue was Residency Towers.
