Another joint for foodies

Bipasha Basu: `I am not here for awards. I will not compromise on my salary, why should I work for charity?

WITH MORE and more people frequenting restaurants and food festivals, new eating out joints are springing up in the city. The Crown at The Residency Towers is the latest addition to the list of restaurants. It serves Indo-Western cuisine in a stylish ambience.

The first guests at the restaurant were veteran cricketers Kapil Dev and G. R.Vishwanath.

One can get a breathtaking view of the city from this rooftop restaurant. Manu Roberts with his 3-piece band creates the right mood to enjoy the food. Those who wish to enjoy the experience of dining under the open skies can visit The Crown's deck where you can take in the cool evening breeze and hear the sound of water. Barbeque, sauces, grills and pastas are the restaurant's specialities.

The Crown is open daily between 7 p.m. and 11.45 p.m. For details call 28156363.

CUMM movement

FLAME AT Le Royal Meridien, in association with E Biz, has initiated CUMM — Chennai Underground Music Movement.

CUMM is a combined effort by DJs in Chennai to promote Underground music (music not released commercially). They want partygoers to promote this kind of music. Flame and E Biz join hands to convert CUMM into a bigger movement. All CUMM promotional materials will carry an anti-drug slogan — "Say no to needles, Music is your only drug."

Parties playing underground music will be certified by CUMM. Promotional CDs of the movement will be frequently launched by DJs and distributed free at CUMM parties. The first CD has been mixed live by DJ Tuhin. Check out the listings of CUMM events at www.cumm.org.in
