Govardhan for the Old City
WITH THE popular South Indian restaurant Govardhan from Adichini having opened a branch at Kashmere Gate, gourmets in this part of town have something new to look forward to.
The USP of the new outlet, which will compete with innumerable eateries in the Old City, is that it is a place where hungry customers can sit down to enjoy their meal. "There may be stalls to eat out, but when one is tired one certainly likes to sit and relax for a while," says Subramanyam, Manager, Govardhan.
The restaurant offers mouth-watering South Indian delicacies.
The interiors of the place are sober and the ambience peaceful with agarbatti fragrance all around.
The food is offered in the traditional South Indian manner on a banana leaf. Dishes to try out are the South Indian Thali, rasam, bisse bele bhaat and special rava idli.
Besides South Indian flavours, one can also have a taste if Chinese dishes like noodles and spring rolls. Keeping in view the taste of Old Delhi residents, Govardhan also serves some favourites of the area like chole bhature and pao bhaji. The cool kulfi is not to be left out among the desserts.
