WITH DESIGNER boutiques emerging in every nook and corner of the city, here comes another. After dedicating her designs to the revival of Kota weaves for 10 years, designer Vidhi Singhania opens her first store at Ambawatta Complex, Mehrauli.
"Entirely focused on weaves, my collection is based on Kota, Varanasi, hand woven outfits and prêt collection. I am more focused on wearable outfits," says Vidhi.
With her intrinsic style stamp in Kota she takes her imagination ahead to create dual tonal effects, linear and geometric, interspersed with traditional motifs and icons.
To give a real shopping experience to her customers she reveals, "I have also given a wide range of accessories including pouches and potli bags to go with the traditional wardrobe line. There is also a bit of home furnishing stuff like, cushions in Kota, jewellery boxes and a range of translucent drapes, one can find in the store." Priced Rs.800 for the handbags, 10,000 for saris and 5000 for the ready to wear outfits, her collection caters to every section of society. "My collection caters to every age group and is more for those who love art. My collection will portray good, traditional and very Indian women," adds Vidhi.
Kota, Banarsi saris along with Vidhi's ready-to-wear collection are available in red, orange, black, coral and aqua colours for this season.
