Crafts festivals


THIS WEEK, you'll have choice aplenty when it comes to shopping for handlooms and handicrafts from other states. `Purbashree', Chennai, has organised an exhibition and sale of handicrafts from the North East and other States at Sri Seshadri Swamigal Mahal, 100 Feet Road, Tatabad, till February 15.

Cane and bamboo crafts, murrahs, colourful woven handloom items from the North East, stone carvings from Agra, Hyderabad pearl jewellery and many more have been showcased in the fest. The exhibition is open between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. (including Sunday).

Handlooms and handicrafts from Gujarat and other States are on display at the Gujarat Handicrafts exhibition conducted by Gujarat Emporium Handicrafts at Rathna Regent, Avinashi Road. Choose from traditional puppets, wooden-handle knives, candles, jewellery, bed sheets and ready-to-wear dresses. On between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. till February 13.
