Jewellery goes classic

ART KARAT is back in the city - this time with an innovative line of jewellery inspired by the Kamasutra. From sleek kundan janeha and payals and intricate armlets and necklaces, there is a wide range to choose from the "Sensuous Collection", which is on display at an exhibition at Chola Sheraton, till January 29.

Designer Asha Kamal Modi, who has crafted exquisite pieces for films such as "Monsoon wedding," "Tahzeeb" and "Devdas," has extended her artistic quests into the realm of desires. The collection comprises semi-precious jewellery for men and women. Embellished with kundan and enamel work, the creations are reminiscent of those worn by royalty. Crafted in silver, the jewellery has a gold veneer.
