Colours of the season

YELLOW, GREEN, mauves, wine black and white are the day colours of this fashion season, while red, pink and fuchsia are the colours of evening ball attire. Knitted and woven fabric with a rustic appearance and floral prints along with big multi-coloured bags to give a complete look.

It was all at "Innovision-05", a fashion show presented by the International Institute of Fashion Technology at Hotel Crowne Plaza Surya to forecast the Spring Summer Collection. Sponsored by Garment Technology Exposition and Ramsons Garments, the show was a precursor to the Garment Technology Expo-2005 that started on January 21 in the Capital.

The show spread across 11 sequences showcased the latest collection of trendy Western wear.

Long skirts with short tops, capris, short spaghetti tops accessorised with hoops and earrings made an appearance as the trend this season. For men it is short shirts with cool casual trousers and capris and funky sunglasses.

The Managing Director of the IIFT and the designer of the show Alka Kohli is very optimistic that her new collection is going to do well in the market this season.

She said, "This show is a funky and colourful interpretation of the season for the glamorous woman of today. It is experimentation with contrast in the fashion world giving a strong style system."

Choreographed by Anup Banerjea and produced and directed by eminent fashion technologist of India Ratandeep Lal, it was held together by the famous Mehr Bhasin, while on the ramp were famous faces like Nikita Anand, Savvy, Shikha Kamal, Ramneek Pantel, Jyoti, Poonam Nath,Rohit, Aditya and Navjeet.
