Twenty-two and tempting

Chopsticks restaurant reaches the one-score-and-two landmark and celebrates with a unique 22 per cent discount.

THE MAGIC of 22 sweeps the Chopsticks restaurant as it plans to re-launch its best culinary offerings that were available 22 years back. Chopsticks was founded in 1982 by P.L. Lamba, Chairman of the Kwality group. And as it turns 22 this Saturday, January 22, the restaurant has come out with an offer of 22 per cent discount to all its customers from January 22 for 22 days!

The varied range of appetisers includes chunk king prawns, steamed chicken pearl balls, jade dumplings, Thai paneer and soups like vegetable wanton, kai soup and other varieties.

In the main course Chopsticks extends old and exotic seafood flavours of drunken lobsters, smoke-sizzled pomfret and much more.

For the vegetarians, there is chilly crispy lotus stem, spinach pepper salt broccoli and baby corn in spice sauce. Last but not the least is an enticing range of desserts. Available only during lunchtime is a "Beverage Bonanza", offering a glass of draft beer or special mocktails, all for - what else but Rs.22!

Popular patrons

Chopsticks, located on the Siri Fort road, has over the years become a favourite haunt of food connoisseurs and celebrities alike. Some of its patrons include Shabana Azmi, Nandita Das, Pankaj Udhas, and interestingly both the past and the present prime ministers - Atal Behari Vajpayee and Manmohan Singh!

Says Lamba, "It has been a kaleidoscopic journey with remarkable success, and the success belongs not only to us but also to our customers, patrons and food connoisseurs who over the past 22 years have dined here and help us to succeed and grow."

The restaurant that has been providing Delhi gourmets with Chinese cuisine over the years has another big plus point. Today where most of the eating joints in the city have tremendous parking blues, the Chopsticks campus provides ample parking space to its costumers.
