Terracotta treat
THE ALL Crafts Fair presents an impressive collection of functional and decorative items, including a 4 ft. tall terracotta icon of goddess Parvati as Bhogalakshmi created by mastercraftsman V. K. Munuswamy.
The other highlights are kalamkari wall hangings by National award winner Murali, white metal artefacts from Rajasthan, terracotta urns, gold plated brass lamps from Kerala, white wood icons and Madhubani paintings on rice paper by Lakshmi Devi.
A special attraction is the flutes made by the visually impaired K. Chinnaviran.
The fair has been organised by the Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Industrial Cooperative Federation Ltd. (SIRPI) and features the works of craftspersons belonging to 96 cooperative societies.
Variety and affordability define the craft objects at the fair, which is on till December 28 at the Corporation Community Hall, 30, C.P. Ramaswamy Road, Alwarpet.
