Sophia says she learnt Hindi from her mother and grandmother. Having trained in Western classical for three years in UK, she got on to learning Indian classical music from Pandit Ashkaran Sharma.

Talking about her personal favourites in Hindi songs and ghazals, she says the songs of Mohammed Rafi, Asha Bhosle and ghazals of Jagjit Singh takes her to a musical high note. Touching the shores of Mumbai in 2002, Sophia joined MTV as a VJ and hosted the popular show MTV Loveline.

About her albums Sophia says, " My first album was appreciated by people and that made a difference in my career. I am happy the response of people about my new album `Babylove' is awesome and it is going strongly in the music charts. For this album, I had listened over 400 songs in order to come up with 12 best ones. The album has popular tracks like "Dil ke armaan", "Ghar aya mera pardesi", "Bachke rehna re baba" etc. Sophia is also highly excited about her stage shows andsays, "Performing before live crowd is a thrilling experience and this is one of the finest moment where you rock the crowd with your song and dance.
