R.B. Santosh Kumar.

FOR R.B. Santosh Kumar, the hobby of painting became a passion. Santosh, a bank executive by profession, derives his inspiration from Mother Nature, a fact that he attributes to his childhood memories in Kerala. Santosh has not learnt the art of painting under the supervision of any teacher. Painting has interested him since his schooldays. After the phenomenal success and critical applause of his solo exhibitions Eternal Moments in 2002 and Equs in 2003, Santosh unveiled his fifth solo exhibition in the city this past week at India Habitat Centre. The theme of his exhibition `Nityanandam - Happiness Always' drew inspiration from everyday life. Among 37 of his paintings `In safe hands' is his favourite and very close to Santosh and his wife.

"It reminds us about our five-year-old son. When we come back from office and get badly tired, then a glance at our son gives us a pleasant feeling," Santosh adds. The 36-year-old bank executive playfully strokes the entire range of colours to give free expression to his creations.

Santosh is very grateful to his parents who supported his creative pursuits and motivated him to acquire a management degree from Bharati Dharshan Institute, Trichupalli.
