Wok in the cloud

THE LILTING music, blend of grey and yellow atmosphere, comfortable seating and add to it all the Chinese statues, well, that is the overall ambience at Woks, the Chinese cuisine restaurant at New Delhi's Intercontinental The Grand. The restaurant has recently changed its name from Noble House to Woks with some add ons in the menu keeping in mind the taste of the people.

"The menu was going well but we saw that the demand was more for wholesome food. Now people want robust flavour in their eating," says, Anupam Joglekar, the Executive chef of the restaurant.

The new menu includes appetisers like golden fried prawns, chicken tai chi served in golden basket, vegetable spring role, wontons, etc. Among the soups there is the not-to-be-missed lemon coriander soup with vegetable for the vegetarians and for the non-vegetarians tom yum soup with chicken is a must. The main course includes yong chow fried rice with mixed vegetable, chicken and seafood, curried coconut and egg fried rice, steamed rice, mai fun (round rice noodles), sung mein (fresh home made noodles), and Ho fun (flat rice noodles).

One can try these assortments with the Asian Wok sauce that includes black pepper sauce, capsicum, onion, hot garlic sauce, spring onion, young ginger and leek, Szechwan kong-poh, dry chilli, spring onion, young ginger and chestnut, xo sauce, seasonal vegetable to name a few. The Noble House favourites include lobster in black bean/ chiili garlic sauce, king prawns in black pepper, lemon, sliced fish in hot bean sauce, singing chicken sizzler, soups like minced chicken soup with black mushroom, noble house mix meat steamboat, etc.
