Artefacts from across the country


THE TAMIL Nadu Handicrafts Artisans Welfare Association is presenting a "Wood Crafts Fair" showcasing handicrafts and furniture from various States across the country.

The venue is the association's retail centre, Srushti, situated in Sudarsan Building, 86, Chamiers Road. The fair is open between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. on all days till December 6.

On show are bronze and terracotta artefacts, Tanjore paintings, brass lamps, bell metal, stone and aluminium crafts and fine furniture in rose and walnut wood.

Artefacts from Kashmir, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu comprise the display.

Also on show are hand printed textiles such as saris, salwar sets and bedspreads. Batiks, Jaipur silk paintings and gemstone paintings are attractive.

There is also an extensive collection of jewellery. Buyers can benefit from a 10 per cent discount on all items.
