Lamps galore

TO COINCIDE with Karthigai Deepam, the Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India is conducting an exhibition titled "Festival of Lights" till November 25 at Temple Towers, 672, Anna Salai, Nandanam.

The exhibition showcases an exclusive collection of lamps. Brass lamps in different sizes and designs — paavai lamp, elephant lamp, Gajalakshmi hanging lamp, Kerala lamp, kuthu vilakkau, nanda lamp, peacock lamp — are on display. Besides, one can choose from terracotta diyas, multi-coloured diyas, Mughlai lamps and painted gift boxes.

The exhibition is part of CCIC's efforts to encourage Indian craftsmen by providing them access to a wider market.
