Sun, surf and health

TAJ LEISURE Hotels has launched a health menu, at Fishermen's Cove, on the ECR. The menu has several categories. One of them is divided into three packages. "Jump Start" or an all-mineral breakfast of fresh seasonal fruits and leafy vegetables. "Jet Pack" which you have to understand as "egg white, whole wheat and low fat supplements." "Power Pack" is a selection of soups and salads.

"Healthy Bites" is another category that has been described as "round the clock" or "in-between" meals. It consists of sandwiches and wraps, prepared with whole wheat bread, fresh vegetables and low fat high-energy ingredients.

What is called the "Nicely Spiced" section of the main course (for lunch and dinner) provides a fare that will fill your tummy with something yummy, but not push up the calories. Fresh fruit salads, slow baked meringue and panacottas, which are collectively called "Sweet Notes," carry the health menu to its logical end.

Fishermen's Cove also offers a kids menu. Just Fillings includes tuna salad sandwiches, potato chips, triple-decker peanut butter and jam sandwiches, available round the clock. Breakfast is defined by pancakes with chocolate chips, waffles with chocolate chips again and traditional egg-based dishes such as scrambled eggs with toast that are complemented with a tall glass of milk or juice.

For lunch and supper, your little ones can have hot dogs with French fries, spaghetti and meat sauce, maple glazed chicken and vegetable kebabs with carrot coins. To top it all, there are warm fudge brownies with vanilla ice cream, fruit salads with pineapple sauce, choco chip ice cream sandwiches and chocolate cakes, all of which constitute "Sweet Tooth Pleasures".
