Taste of Thailand

LOTUS, THE Thai restaurant at The Park, has a new menu, comprising original Thai recipes tossed up by Chef Prakob. The salads and appetisers range from thod man pla (deep fried patties of ground fish mixed with Thai herbs) to to satay kai/koong kai (skewers of grilled chicken, prawn or lamb served with peanut sauce). The curries take the pride of place. Check out kaeng phet koong/kai/kae/nuae/pet yang pladook phak (red curry with coconut milk with prawn, chicken, lamb or tenderloin) a traditional curry made with green chillies and Thai spices. For desserts, try out gluay buat chii (poached banana in coconut milk and sugar syrup) or khao niew bai toey (pandanus flavoured sticky rice with coconut ice cream). For reservations, call 52144000.
