Charisma... again!

Jewels of wisdom... Karisma Kapur unveils her plans along with Tanishq's new jewellery range. Photo: S. Subramanium.

HER SOFT, glowing looks take no time to grab attention.Attired in a shocking pink kurti and black trousers, Karisma Kapur looks stunning. Like any other newly wed girl, Karisma too sports that afterglow of marriage. And while it may be nice just to gaze at that smiling radiance, there are a few things Karisma wants to say too.

On her experience with the serial Karishma: The Miracle of Destiny on Sahara Manoranjan, the actress says,"Television is different from those typical masala movies, and when the opportunity came to me with this great role I decided to do it."

Though a tad upset about the serial going off air by next month, she feels delighted that the show has completed 260 episodes. "Today people have shifted their focus to television and are more interested in watching a half-hour serial than going for a three-hour movie," she comments. Of course her small screen debut in no way means an end to her Bollywood career.

Films in the kitty

Karisma, who launched the dazzling new range of Tanishq jewellery for the festive season in 22 karat gold and diamonds at its showroom in New Delhi's Connaught Place this past week, reveals she has two films, Amanat and Mere Jeevan Saathi, in her kitty right now.

Talking about Mere Jeevan Saathi, the actress explains, "My role is completely different, with a few shades of grey, a perfectly human character." Zubeidaa till date remains"a role of a lifetime" for her, "with beautiful photography and realistic scenes that every actress would like to play." Even after working in 70 movies in ashort span, her urge for acting has not lessened and she wants to concentrate on roles she has never done before.

Film roles may come and go, but there's no denying Karisma's skill in her role as brand ambassador. Admiring the Tanishq collection, she comments, "The collection has been designed keeping the concept of beautiful jewellery for beautiful people at beautiful prices. It is very wise, with shades of Indian and modern designs, and the prices are so economical that people can gift it to their near and dear ones."

With its "spectacular imagery", the collection, she feels, is bound to create waves, as the designs on the necklaces, earrings, pendants, finger rings and bracelets "are in a rich palette of colours and shapes providing ample adornment options suited for each day of the festive season."
