LIFE, THE new casualwear shop near the Ajantha Theatre, offers you chinos and jeans in eye-catching hues.

Three years ago, Huvaiz Al-Karnanisha, set up Life in the shopping mall, Anna's Arcade, at Statue Junction. Since business was not exactly booming, Huvaiz decided to shift base to the Gift Shoppe building next to the theatre.

"Most of those who come to our shop are college students," says Suneer Thajudeen.

Salwar kameez coordinates in chiffons, georgettes and cottons are available at the store. Coordinates in shades such as green, blue and grey with intricate Karachi embroidery done on them are priced at Rs. 2,245.

The salwar kameez coordinates with hand-embroidered floral and geometric patterns from Surat have `mica' work on them.

Cute caps made of a paper-like nylon material comes in hues of white, pink, blue and yellow. These are priced at Rs. 275.

Most of the casualwear has either been made in Thailand or stitched using fabric made in Thailand. You can pick up trousers in fabrics such as linen and hand-woven cotton at Rs. 475 and upward.

Jeans

"Jeans featuring multi-coloured stripes are in vogue now," says A. L. Kareem, staff of Life. The low waist jeans in the boot cut style seems to be popular among the youth.

Some of the jeans have the waistband and pocket stitched in reverse. If you have been scouring shops in the city for belts made of cloth, you could check them out at Life. The belts are priced between Rs. 35 and Rs. 300.

Tracksuits and three-fourth pants sport a price tag of Rs. 345, while T-shirts are priced between Rs. 145 and Rs. 345. Shirts in light shades with stripes and checks form part of the formal wear section at the store. "Our formal wear range is priced at Rs. 515 and have many takers," says Kareem.

Shoes for formal wear are priced at Rs. 975. "These leather shoes are modelled on popular brands," says Suneer.
