Festive collection

CRUSHED LOOK rules this Dasara season, for skirts and kurtas alike, replete with sequins for that festive shimmer. Bringing an exclusive collection for the season is Kolkata-based designer Abhilasha who is here (October 12-13) for an expo at Marichika, with Intrigue, the in-house label from her popular boutique back home. "The collection is vibrant. We have used natural fibres such as silk as well as blends. Kurtas in tussar, jute and matka fabrics are interesting. We have also played a lot with the dupatta, attached with silver for the festive effect," says Abhilasha. Skirts — straight and crushed, saris in blends and georgettes, with prints and attention-grabbing borders and churidars are the other buys in the collection that is priced between Rs. 2,200 and Rs. 20,000.

Also, Marichika presents Karan Shringar, an exhibition of antique gold jewellery from Shrishti, Bangalore (October 14-15). The collection holds old ruby jhumkas, antique thoda earrings and more.

For details contact Marichika (Plot No.468, Road No. 36, opposite Trinetra Super Market, Jubilee Hills, Tel: 23555837).
