Tak-a-tak delight

ONE MIGHT miss Angeethi, the small restaurant at The Village Restaurant Complex but cannot miss the sound of "Tak-a-Tak" played by chef Sajjan Kumar on the big tawa. Keeping up its tradition to provide a delectable and authentic cuisine, the restaurant is all geared up to serve flavoursome rhythms of "Tak-a-Tak" - a Pakistani cuisine - for the food connoisseurs.

Anil Malik, Manager, Angeethi, says, "As the food is prepared live on griddle, it is ensured that freshness and flavours of food are retained. We also maintain the good quality of food here."

The food is cooked in an open kitchen where an array of tawa delicacies like Murg taka tak, Chicken kasoori, Keema mutter taka tak coupled with Gurda kapoora, Bhoona ghosht, Chicken kesari, etc. are prepared. A variety of kababs are also on offer that includes Murg malai kabab, Reshmi seekh, Mutton gelafi kabab and Jal pari kabab (prawns marinated in yoghurt and mild spices and char grilled). Other tempting items that could tickle the taste buds are tikkas like Ajwani malu tikka, Chicken tikka and Paneer tikka.

For vegetarians, specialities include mixed vegetable taka tak, Veg dolmas (combination of bell pepper and tomato stuffed with cheese and nuts) Aloo taka tak and Dal angeethi (a delicious combination of black urad and rajma, cooked overnight).

The cooking is done on two separate griddles for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, by two separate chefs. The restaurant is open from 7.30 p.m. till 11.30 p.m. and a sumptuous meal for two could cost Rs.600 approximately.
