THERE'S STIFF competition to do up your home. Big brands have descended on the city offering a wide variety of linens and home furnishings to house-proud Bangaloreans. Milano Home is the latest brand to hit the city.

The store offers co-ordinated products to liven up the living room, dining room, and the bedroom of discerning customers.

The parent company — Milano International (India) Pvt. Ltd. is twenty-five year old and has dealt with exports until now. "Of course, we believe that the timing is perfect to permeate the retail market," says the Director, Captain Pradeep Lal.

We all know that sometimes just charming curtains are enough to transform the ambience of an entire room, and throwing some cushions on the floor can lend a special and personal touch.

Silk cushions

If you are looking for formal silk cushions to usher in a regal flavour or elegant table runners when you invite guests over, they are all available here at Milano Home.

As for the bedroom, embellished bed linen including duvet covers, pillowcases, sheets, throws, quilts, cushion covers are all available. In fact, watch out for their sheer drapes, incredibly light weight and summery; they are sure to add a pretty touch to your interiors.

In their tableware section, the store offers interesting tablecloths, napkins, runners and place mats. Their table runners in shades of rich and deep maroon are a big hit with shoppers.

"Housewives who want to do up their homes tastefully, the well-travelled yuppies, anybody who loves to experiment... they comprise my clientele," says Captain Lal. He is clearly thrilled with the response the store has received in the last few months.

Reasonably priced

While cushion covers are available at Rs. 75 and above, pillowcases are priced at Rs. 125 upwards. Runners are priced at Rs. 225 upwards and a typical set of bed accessories, which includes a sheet with matching pillow covers is available for upwards of Rs. 750.

You can visit the store at Milano Home, 134, First Floor, The Forum Mall, Koramangala. You can call on 22067668
