Freedom fare... at Mainstreet
IT'S A special treat this Independence Day at Mainstreet, the 24-hour restaurant at The Residency Towers. The dishes will be named after freedom fighters, famous places in the Freedom Struggle and key figures in the Freedom Movement. You can commence the freedom lunch with Mountbatten's terrine and choose from interesting combinations such as salad de Republic, national salad or salad 1947. As for the soups, there are Tripura chicken clear soup and cream of freedom soup. The main course for vegetarians include Haryana mutter paneer, Bangala chichigo posto, Raj Mahal saag phaldhari kofta, nai choru and VOC Kerala erichery. For non-vegetarians, there are Firpo's Goan fish curry, Azadi murugh kebab, Circuit House mutton biryani and more. Complete the meal with thiranga burfi, Amritsari chenna kheer and Irwin Pact caramel custard.

At Ahaar, The Residency, it will be a confluence of rivers Brahmaputra machili curry, Ganga dal shorba, Jhelum yakhni shorba. These specialities are from the regions where these rivers flow. The desserts are inspired by the names of the hills and mountains. Patriotic songs will be played during the lunch (12.30 p.m. to 3 p.m.) and dinner (7.30 p.m. to 12 midnight) sessions.
