Festive collection

WITH RAKSHA Bandhan round the corner, most women are going on a shopping spree. Keeping with the festive spirit Vimonisha will be unveiling its private collection on August 19 with a host of designers from Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Indore, Kolkata and Hyderabad.

Adil Khan from Delhi will present his bold new designs for the first time in Chennai. Besides `patti ka kaam' salwar suits in cotton, organza and Chanderi, his collection includes designer skirts (Rs. 850 onwards).

Poonam Kalakriti's Lucknowi saris, salwar kameezes, lehengas, tops and gents kurtas are embellished with the rich chikankari work.

Suchita-Namita from Mumbai have come up with intricately designed and well-tailored salwar suits in lime green, saffron, beige, rust, fuchsia and black for this show. If you are looking for elegant saris, Rekha Lahoti's collection in fusion fabrics will give the wearer a `feel-light' look despite sequins, kundan, resham, brocade and zardozi on them. While Anamika from Kolkata will showcase exquisitely embroidered crepe, georgette and cotton saris and salwar kameezes, Vividh's radiant Bandhini, Patolas, Tangail, Banarasi saris and dress materials are just right for a festive occasion or an evening out.

Choose from the home linen collection of Nidhi from Indore to dress up your home too.

The show is on till August 21 at Vimonisha Gallery, 12, Khader Nawaz Khan Road, ph: 28363911.
