Salwars, saris, in tricolour

INDEPENDENCE DAY is celebrated in ever so many ways. The tricolour has been for long adapted by clothes designers and the three colours often go side by side on sari borders and blouses, apart having them loud and blatant on other clothes. And then, after August 15, they are forgotten till the next year.

But here are sets of salwar kurtas, dupattas and saris which have suble tricolour combos which don't stick out. They are elegantly designed and eminently wearable on all occasions.

At Tamanna's, in Pananpilly Nagar, these clothes will be opn display on August 15. They are all cotton and priced between Rs 650- 2000.

Says Sherin Basheer, who has got the collection ready, "They are block printed and some are embroidered, all with the tricolour. On Environment day, we had the colour green to celebrate with and there were several shades of it on clothes. For Onam, we will have the motifs of Onam printed on saris and salwar suits," she said."
