Southerly aroma

SIMBLY SOUTH, the speciality South Indian restaurant at Plaza Mall, Gurgaon, has an interesting array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food from the four southern States in a milieu that looks like a café with contemporary interiors. An informal setting to get into the mouth-watering offerings at once.

It's not a bad idea to begin with vasanda neer made of fresh coconut water, honey and lemon juice, which whets the appetite for a scrumptious meal. For non-vegetarian starters, try the Thanjavur yaraverwal or the mouth-watering chappa fish fry. For the main course, have some pepper prawn, chicken and paneer Chettinad dishes. The vegetarians can go for bhindi kerakulambo, spicy veg gassi avvial and vartha curry. To enjoy them more, try them with soft and fluffy appams or the Malabari paroothas. Though the non-vegetarian fare might be a bit spicy for your palette, don't fret. Go straightaway for the delectable dessert list. Scoop in some tepid basundi, a delightful jaggery flavoured version of rabri, the right way to sign off the exciting food venture. An option to note is the thali, vegetarian and non-vegetarian, priced at Rs.75 and 95 respectively.
