A royal bite...

IF YOU thought that all the Moghuls left us are excellent architectural masterpieces, pause and think about their rich nutritious meals. Far from being forgotten, Mughlai cuisine still has many a taker. Those with such preferences can head straight for the Kabila restaurant catering to a gamut of tastes. As the name suggests, it is betterfor a small group of people to hang around. Located near Hauz Khas, Kabila is like a tiny home away from home for the gourmet cum-pleasure seeker. With its longlist of dishes and alliteration in the recipes, it specialises in Mughlai food. Dohra kabab, murg badami tikka, rich kormas, Nargisi koftas and the mouth-watering biryani are a hit with connoisseurs. If placing an order for the chicken varieties, it would be advisable to keep a glassful of water handy so you can cool your tongue, since besides being a Mughlai paradise it can also be a spicy inferno. The list goes on, with scrumptious vegetarian food including hakka noodles and vegetable Manchurian. Little snacks with a spoonful of sauce and two healthy pieces of butter make for delicious eating, though not for the figure conscious.

Apart from Mughlai cuisine, Parsi, Arabic, Chinese and Portuguese food is also served on outdoor catering basis. A centurion in terms of the delicacies, Kabila promises its customers a cool discount during happy hours - 3 to 8 p.m.
