Not just another cafe

You can pick up a mug also along with your coffee

THE "WANT to do coffee sometime" line can now extend much beyond that invigorating drink. Café Coffee Day, with outlets across India is now expanding the merchandise stocked at its outlets, aiming to "allow the customer to carry some of the good times spent at CCD".

Café Coffee Day (CCD) sells its mainstay — coffee powders, containing different blends. Apart from that, there are lots of other kinds of merchandise on sale, including 200 ml matt finish, stainless steel filters priced at Rs. 95 plus taxes, stoneware coffee mugs, T-shirts designed by National Institute of Design students at Rs. 175, rugby shirts at Rs. 450, sweatshirts at Rs. 300, caps at Rs. 60, front zipper bags at Rs. 160 and microwavable travel mugs (which are double walled and have a flap to prevent spills) at Rs. 60.

The coffee shop is also targeting young couples who frequent it, by selling teddy bears priced at Rs. 210 intended to attract couples during Valentine's Day.

In addition to the goods mentioned above, CCD is planning on launching new Reglon sleeve T-shirts which will have a rubber print with buffing effect. These will be available at Rs. 249 and will appear in three designs.

To target women, CCD will launch a special range of T-shirts exclusively for the ladies. These will be available in two designs and priced at Rs. 229. The shop also plans to introduce shoulder bags and cloth bags upwards of Rs.199.

So dropping in to a Coffee Day for a steaming espresso, could cost you much more than just the drink.
