Wok about town

IT HAS never been a bad idea to hang out with your family in a near-by restaurant and relish exotic varieties of cuisine in an atmosphere of togetherness. The Flaming Wok, a Chinese and Thai restaurant, at New Delhi's Chittaranjan Park, claims to be a full-fledged family restaurant.

Among the Chinese dishes on the menu are Shanghai rolls, chicken mince rolled in breasts of chicken with a spicy dip; shrimp balls with your choice of sauce; prawns in butter garlic sauce; whole chilli pomfret. For the vegetarians, a not-to-miss starter is the cauliflower Singapore style, spicy baby corn, mushrooms, and mushroom tomato rice. In addition, the new range of dishes includes steamed fish with garlic sauce, Chinese green stir-fry and green rice.

Among the new Thai dishes are the fried rice with pineapple, the lamb masanan curry and the famous Penang curry. Moreover, the most recommended soup in the Thai menu is the tom kha gai, a soup immersed in coconut milk.

"The Flaming Wok does not have a liquor bar, but we offer sugar-free Chinese tea after the meal," says Raju Sarkar, the restaurant-owner.

Not a bad idea when you are with the family!
