More pizza, more fun
WAITING AT Domino's can be quite disastrous. Every minute spent surrounded by tempting melting cheese and fragrant hand-tossed crusts, makes it more and more difficult to resist their pizzas, constantly waved in front of your nose by gleeful waiters.
So, when actress Simran arrived more than an hour late to inaugurate the new Domino's outlet at Anna Nagar (52014444), all the children from RASA, a school for special children, were already knee-deep (or nose-deep?) in stretchy mozzarella.
Dressed in a blinding orange Fanta T-shirt and accompanied by a group of similarly dressed Fanta representatives, when she finally breezed in, it looked like a violently coloured orange orchard had taken over Domino's. (And to make sure that nobody missed the fact that she was representing Fanta, the orange crowd quickly shoved a Fanta cap on her head, a Fanta can in her hand, a Fanta bottle on the table behind her and made her drink... phew... Fanta.)
The real head-turners for the day, however, were the incredibly cute RASA kids, and their cheerfully dedicated volunteers. After giving Simran a warm welcome, between munches of pizza, they carefully settled themselves on one side of the restaurant and patiently watched the proceedings.
Their high point, however, seemed to be the photo session, which was preceded by the Domino's cheer thundered out by a large group of beaming waiters: "Who are we? Domino's Pizza. What are we? Number One. What's our goal? Sell more pizza, have more fun!" And then everyone smiled for the camera, as one waiter yelled, "Extra cheese please."
