Crowning glory

The crown for the title World in the Miss India Contest

THINK OF a beauty pageant and what comes to mind is the sparkling stone studded tiara that adorns the winner. The forthcoming Ponds Femina Miss India contest will see a whole new collection of crowns and tiaras designed by Tanishq.

The crown for the title Universe in the Miss India Contest

In this contemporary collection, vibrant colours and designs have been used to convey what each title represents — the universe, the world and the earth.

The crown for the title Earth in the Miss India Contest

The collection also attempts to capture the essence of India through the use of ethnic motifs such as the tika and peacock feathers. The Ponds Miss India Universe crown is a chic representation of the planets and their orbits. A huge red stone at the centre is symbolic of the power of the universe. The Ponds Miss India World crown draws its inspiration from the sea, the lifeline of the world. It is expressed in shades of light turquoise stones, symbolic of waves. The flora and fauna on earth serve as the inspiration for designing the crown of Ponds Miss India Earth. Looking like a peacock feather, it uses colours of blue and green.
