Pizza puzzle

SWADESHI IS the name of the game and Italian hold is sure on target. It is just that after reaching almost a saturation point in selling pizzas as an Italian delicacy, Pizza Hut is trying to give Pizzas a pan Indian touch with Chettinad range of pan pizzas. Sprinkled with pepper and chillies the effort is to attract those who consider pizza as a bland item. So in comes names like vegetarian Nilgiri, Deccan chicken, Dakshin paneer and Southern supreme which sound familiar to the ears followed by toppings that make you feel homely. But once you are through with the top, the bottom is characteristically insipid in taste. Though the pan crust of Pizza Hut is known for its light and fluffy inside and golden brown and crunchy exterior the idea to put spicy Cochin on top of a tame Rome doesn't gel all that well. If homogeneity is what you savour in your food, then it is certainly not meant for you. However, the efforts don't stop here, there is a tandoori twist to the pizza tale as well, to associate with the Punjabi customer with the tandoori range of pan pizzas. The price ranges from Rs.65 for a personal size vegetarian Nilgiri to Rs.415 for a family size Southern supreme.
