Just walk in...

REDEFINING THE experience of footwear shopping, the M&B Footwear recently launched its flagship store, Walk In M&B, at the Metropolitan Mall in Gurgaon. With more than 600 outlets across the country and two decades of experience, it is more knownfor establishing the Lee Cooper brand of footwear in the country.

There is more in the offing at its stores like the feminine footwear, No Limits and Lee Cooper Femmes, and also the in-house brand namely, ID Shoes.

"The store is the first of its kinds that has a variety of more than 200 designs on display, which include formals, semi-formals and the sports collection for men and women ", says Vinny, the store manager. For the first time in the footwear industry, mannequins have been used here to show the customers the best way to coordinate their clothes with the shoes they wear. The design of the store is in itself in line with the contemporary global trend and the glass façade offering a complete visibility for the passers-by to just walk in.

"We at M&B Footwear, expect the Walk In M&B's to establish a benchmark in retailing and set new standards for retail outlets," says M.M.Krishna, the Vice President,Retail. "The store here is just the first of many more to come," adds Krishna, who has plans to open around 15 such stores across North India by the year-end.

The journey of life...

WHAT AMERICA always wanted was a puppet government in Baghdad; hence it invaded Iraq and unleashed terror on humanity. This is what bothered Aziz Burney, the editor of Rashtriya Sahara's Urdu daily Roznama. The result was a biography on the ousted Iraqi President Saddam Husain titled, "Safar Zindagi Ka" published by Dynamic Publications Private Limited, Meerut. It was released in New Delhi the other day. Why Saddam? So that the future generation does not forget America's design and "the cardinal truth about the America's conquest" is the reason Burney gives for penning down this book.

The book was released by the former Prime Minister of India, Inder Kumar Gujral, while famous litterateur Gopi Chand Narang presided over the function. Socialite Nafisa Ali and Asian Academy of Film and T.V. Director Sandeep Marwah and I.T.P.O General Manager Sajdur H. Khan also participated.

The book is published in both Urdu and Hindi.
