Power buffet

Harahs introduces a five-course multi-cuisine buffet for lunch


A BOWL of cereals or corn flakes washed down with a glass of canned orange juice at 8.30 a.m., instant rajma and palak paneer for a late dinner and lunch at the mercy of time, opportunity and available options. Well, if you happen to live or work anywhere in the vicinity of Nagarjuna Circle, Banjara Hills, and are in a mood for an early brunch or plan to indulge in a lunch, food is round the corner. Harahs, the rest-o-bar on the fourth floor, Lumbini Amrutha Chambers has come up with a lunch buffet, available between 12 noon and 4 p.m. "We are aiming at the corporate crowd who need quick lunch at reasonable prices. Here, one can skip the menu and head for the buffet directly. Also, if you are going a la carte, a Chicken pulusu with naan will bill for Rs. 160 or a Biryani for Rs. 125. The buffet on the contrary comes as an economic proposition for the variety it offers," explains Anita Reddy, CEO, Harahs.

The buffet at Harahs is a five-course multi-cuisine affair. Starters, such as Crispy vegetables or Shanghai chicken and soups of the day, again predominantly Chinese, a Tomato egg drop or a Spinach soup, are appetising. Diced vegetables, Aalu chat or boiled eggs topped with salt and peppers are some of the options one can find at the salad bar. While the salad is kept minimalist, the main course provides a generous line up, of Indian-south and north Indian and Chinese popular dishes, for the main course. The spread hold a wide range, from Dal makhni, Bhindi fry and naan to Coconut rice, Sambhar and vegetable stew that goes well with piping hot appams from the live counters here. The Hyderabadi dum biryani finds its place of prominence in the spread. Stir-fry vegetables in oyster sauce and Singapore vegetarian noodles for the Chinese food buffs wrap up the main course. For those with a sweet tooth, the buffet brings desserts on a mild sugary note like Pineapple soufflé and Caramel custard to the rich gulab jamuns and vanilla ice cream. If on diet, just settle with a plate of fruit salad for that daily bowl of fresh fruits.

The lunch buffet is priced at Rs. 150, which includes a complementary mug of beer or cool carbonated drink. "The response has been good. We plan to make it a regular feature at Harahs," says Anita. For reservations contact Harahs on Tel: 30919191, 30929292 and 23351188. Bon apetit.
