Due East

`FROM THE Arctic', `Through The Tropics', `At the Equator'... It's not a navigator giving directions to a lost person. Well, these are the names of the cocktails you get at the newly opened lounge bar, Latitude, at East 101 in Gurgaon. The cocktails have been appropriately named and divided according to latitudes.

The lounge bar is becoming a new age expression in nightlife and taking the place of the discos. Latitude combines a sophisticated and stylish club atmosphere with the non-stop action of a nightclub. It is a good place to hang out with the latest and the greatest music. The lounge, which has a seating capacity 110, principally serves a variety of Southeast Asian food like Chinese, Malay, Thai and Indonesian. The nightlife at the lounge bar starts at dusk, with a casual elegance in an inviting setting.

"Dimsums are our specialty among the wide variety of food to choose from," says Mr. Anunay, the manager. Prawn pepper salt, spare ribs with honey sauce and the lotus stem chilli garlic are among the favourites.Latitude is a discrete blend of contemporary fashion and polished approach. The captivating design and the state-of-the-art sound system is an element of technology. The eclectic music by the resident deejay encourages movement and dancing.
