Where the arts meet

THE EVENING will see the coming together of various art forms. To celebrate Republic Day, Bharat Kalachar, Rotary Club of Madras T. Nagar and Rotary Rajan Eye Bank are presenting "Kalaavadhaanam: Kavya, Chitra, Gita, Nritya" on January 26, 5.30 p.m., at the YGP Auditorium, Thirumalai Road, T. Nagar.

R. Ganesh will present verses in Sanskrit, taking care of the `Kavya' part of the programme. Armed with a Master's degree in Sanskrit, Ganesh performs and composes in several languages with ease.

The `chitra' part' will be handled by B.K.S. Varma, a painter who has participated in many international exhibitions.

Nagavalli Nagaraj will present a vocal concert with Thiruvavur N. Balam (violin) and Thiruvavur N.S. Rajam (mrigandam) accompanying her.

Sundari Santanam, a senior disciple of Padma Subrahmanyam, will present a dance programme.
