Spread out, Chutneys style
|
Only an ambitious eater can do justice to the generous buffet spread at Chutneys
|
FIFTY DIFFERENT kinds of spices, and close to the same number of dishes, eight desserts, - unfortunately one tummy? The buffet spread at Chutneys is as huge as a sea, and only an ambitious eater can do justice.
Chutneys Buffet (1st floor) is a spacious place, tastefully done up to a cheerful ambience and is open for lunch and dinner. Esoteric lighting, muted colours and Sandipani's welcoming smile add warmth to the whole situation, even as the atmosphere inside bustles with life and sounds of people dining. "More than a food station, Chutneys is an experience. The buffet was started to extend this experience to our regular patrons and not-so regular ones, who deserve nothing short of the best items we serve," smiles owner, Sandipani.
Besides, the buffet will help resolve the inconvenience of a long wait to dine that was a familiar feature in Chutneys. The popular vegetarian restaurant serves for the most part of South Indian and North Indian fare, while occasionally dishing out some Oriental stuff as well. There are some dishes specially prepared for Jains without ginger, garlic, carrot, potato and onions. The varied menu is changed everyday to sprinkle freshness in the spread.
Soups and salads set the tone for the delightful meal, competitively priced at Rs 110 per head. Tuck in as much biryani, fried rice, chapatti or chow and combine with a choice of curries that are nearly unlimited at Chutneys. The mouth-watering sweets, puddings and cakes are sufficient to tempt anyone for an indulgence. Large groups of people can be accommodated in the cabins and private dining rooms are available abundantly. The lavish fare and space make Chutneys Buffet an ideal setting for a fun evening of food, family and friends. Just ensure you are hungry before you call on.
