A twist of lime

Savour the various delights at Citrus

Location: Banjara Hills, Road No. 4 (KPMG Bldng.)

Tel: 55256624/25

Meal for two: Rs. 300 - Rs. 500

CITRUS HAS an aura of formality around it. The new bar and restaurant at Banjara Hills is an ideal destination to indulge in a reassuring fine dining experience. Soft strains of instrumental music, a drink or two to unwind and a diverse gastronomy is an epicurean delight, and Citrus seems to contain just the right juices.

Cassarino groves in the exterior give the place a pleasing look from outside, while the same helps in lowering the temperature inside. Woody interiors, happy waiters and an uncluttered setting exude a warm ambience aptly harmonised by regulated-yellow light that extend hospitality. The restaurant can comfortably seat close to a hundred people, with a private dining room that can accommodate 20.

If a cocktail is your cup of tea, Citrus Blood Transfusion will be manna. Order for a Prawn paprika or a Veg Augratin or may be a Citrus chicken, sit back and slip into the happy reverie that can only come from knowing that the chicken is as crispy as cellophane, the prawn meat as tender as fruit, and a slice of spice in the veg-crisps as tangy as anything. With a heady cocktail, rest assured the pleasure will be heavenly.

Soups and salads are said to set the tone for a meal, and Citrus' array is delightful for lettuce lovers. There is Lime and coriander, Broccoli and asparagus, Minestrone, Tom-Yom, Bamboo shoot and a surprising combination of all.

The main course in the menu is an assortment of Indian, Continental and Chinese. Pick and choose as per your preference and taste, but manager Anand Raj recommends `Conti' for those widely travelled. "We have a specially-trained sushi chef for our continental fare and a sample from his oven is mouth-watering."

Perhaps, the best part about Citrus is the helpful staff who are ever ready to lend an ear, listen to suggestions and spread smiles like infection. Believe us, it helps in digestion.
