Stars in her sight

Lara Dutta... It is all in the mind. Photo: S. Subramanium.

SHE IS brave enough. Does not accept that the lukewarm response to "Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost" has moved her at all. "The film was appreciated for its novel contents. And my work was appreciated. It was an experiment," she says. She did not look a bit of a village girl in the film! "But I tried," she quips.

Now she comes in a guest appearance in "Khakee". The reason? "A film that portrays India's patriotic fervour, I don't mind playing a guest role. Moreover, it has big star cast. No one has a big share of role, everyone is a character, so am I." She is also starring in "Bardaarsht" of E. Niwas, she emphasises, "with `aa' and "Masti" of one Vijay! Lara was at Delhi Public School International for inaugurating the launch of a Finishing Centre with Vandana Luthra. She assesses the initiative: "India is growing so fast, today even I cannot cope with high mental level that younger generation has. The centre seems to have come up at the right time: grooming is so important to achieve international standards," she flashes pearly smile.
