Namma taste?

MTR, a popular name in packaged food, has opened a restaurant offering more than just variety food

For all those food buffs who are passionate about home cooked food, here is another chance to relish the same taste in a restaurant. MTR Foods Limited, a popular name in packaged food has opened its first outlet `Namma MTR' in the city. Set in a bright orange background, the place has a variety to offer — South and North Indian dishes, fresh fruit juices, sweets and savouries. Being one among the few food companies to have received ISO 9002 and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) ceritification, Namma MTR serves as a one-step shop for the entire range of its products.

The outlet is set in unique combination of three concepts, retail outlet, food court and concept kitchen. The retail outlet stocks MTR products while the food court serves a variety of dishes and snack items at affordable prices. The concept kitchen is a small kiosk in the hall where consumers can take a look at the method of preparation. "Customer interaction, demonstration of the preparations, and cookery classes are all the other attractions at the kiosk. Customers are also encouraged to post their queries and complaints here," says Suresh, executive director of the company. The outlet has also launched ready-to-eat rice meals. "With changing lifestyle, people seem to prefer ready-made meals too. A complete meal can be prepared in two minutes by just dipping the ingredients of ready-to-eat rice meals into boiling water. It is an ideal recipe while you are travelling," he says. The ready-to-eat rice meal is available in rasam rice, sambar rice, lime rice, tamarind rice, jeera rice, rajma rice and tomato rice varieties. Namma MTR is located on G.N Chetty Road T-Nagar.
