'Crave'... for fine food

IT IS the festive season and the shopping malls are all decked up and beckoning everyone with a variety of products. And after hectic shopping it is natural for anyone to `crave' for good snacks, and if you happen to be shopping at the Gurgaon malls, the place to be in for refreshing yourself might be the `Crave', the newly-opened restaurant-cum-bar. You can share snacks with friends, enjoy a quick drink or order a three-course meal in an informal environment here. It combines the vibrancy of a bar, the serenity of a lounge, the exclusivity of a private parlour, with international cuisine and a wide range of beers and drinks.. The food menu includes pub fare as well as more innovative offerings like fish hasrati tikka, grilled thai roulade, champ tazdar, shahi bada gosht and lamb on fire. Vegetarian fare is also available. Crave also provides vegetable parcels.

The drinks menu is sure to please those with a taste. The `Martini magic' at the restobar offers cosmopolitan varieties like farmers', parrot head and pink gin. The entrance foyer houses an artistic wine display.

Aesthetic display, in sync with the sitting areas, has been created along the curved walls of the restobar. These niches clearly mark out the dining space with flower vases, and the lounge area house candles add to the warmth of the restobar. Emphasis has also been laid on lighting. At night the atmosphere of the restobar is magnetic, as shades are drawn over the windows and the oval floor of the restobar is lit by hundreds of little bulbs. A private lounge area has been specially created without isolating it from the dining area. Different types of seating , flooring patterns and design features segregate the dining area and the lounge space. For those seeking privacy, a cosy corner has been introduced. With a carpet area of 2,500 square feet, the overall design flaunts extensive use of glass and fabric together with flamboyant purples, deep yellow and orange, bringing forth the vibrancy of the ambience. The restobar at a given time can accommodate over 250 persons and is open all days a week from 12 noon to midnight.
