In purple and orange
CONTEMPORARY DESIGN finds expression in shades of purple and orange this time at The Design Store. A stunning array of lifestyle products is on display at an ongoing exhibition. They are unique, minimalistic, understated and imaginative. The `Purple Orange' line comprises bed, bath and table linen, fabrics and floor coverings, table top objets d'art, collectibles and stationery, seasonal and corporate gifts, fashion accessories, kitchen ware and much else.
Brightly coloured wooden CD racks and red acrylic pen stand tripods sit beside satin cushions with prints of English roses or delicately embroidered Khadi cushions. Sleek new-age black, silver and red steel wine racks vie for attention with lacquered lampshades in red orange, green and burgundy.
On show are ornamental products such as serrated leather puppet lampshades, lacquered wooden kitchenware and lamps, recycled paper `Daisy Pop' photo frames in wild and wacky shades and leather cell phone covers. Art buffs can look for designer porcelain crockery embellished with transfer printing of Indian Art. Or one can pick up an avante garde tray celebrating contemporary graphics.
The `Purple Orange' line is on view at 32, C.P. Ramaswamy Road, Alwarpet, till October 12.
