A new manzil for food lovers...

ADCHINI MAY sound like a half-Indian, half-Chinese homo sapien to one. But it is actually a hub for food lovers in New Delhi particularly because it has a number of restaurants, one of which is Mughlai restaurant-cum-bar Pehli Manzil. It is run by a young entrepreneur Akash Sharma along with his friend, Niena Aurora.

Pehli Manzil has hosted an unlimited kabab festival. One can eat to the heart's content while choosing from a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian kababs priced at Rs.299 and 399 respectively. But there is more. Within these prices, one can relish a complete vegetarian or non-vegetarian meal with a free welcome drink. Savour one seasonal vegetable or non-vegetarian delight with cumin rice, dal makhani, curd, breads as roomali roti or lachcha naan and a dessert.

The ambience is typically Moghul with miniature prints, artefacts and dim lighting. While melodious ghazals and soft aroma of the tandoori ambrosia fill the air, one can refill the plate and enjoy the kabab cuisine. Bite into succulent pieces of chicken marinated in mint and smoked on a tandoor, that is chicken tikka hariyali for you. A deep-fried combination of potato, crushed cashew nuts and spinach, hara-bhara kebab is quite a change from the usual vegetarian kababs. Vegetable seekh, bharwan aloo - a scooped, stuffed and smoked potato on a bed of charcoal - paneer tikka and tandoori gobhi are the other vegetarian kababs. Non-vegetarian kababs comprise chicken lollypop, mutton seekh, shami kabab and chicken tandoori. The restaurant also offers an executive buffet for Rs.220 with a complimentary beer.
