Refreshing bistro

S.F.

`On The Way', a quiet eatery tucked in Jubilee Hills, offers a sumptuous meal from the Continental, Chinese and Kebab platter.

STEP RIGHT UP: For a quick bite.

EATING OUT is essentially an experience to indulge in some fine cuisine and suitable environment. During the monsoons, steamy sizzlers or plain fish and chips on a cosy table in a calm bistro under a refreshing lime canopy, look appetising. And the cheerful ambience of this place sure makes people come over for a quick lunch or a relaxing dinner. We are talking about `On The Way', the popular destination on Road No. 36, Jubilee Hills.

CONTINENTAL SIZZLE: For all who crave the authentic taste.

Started by a student who opened the eatery since he was missing the Continental food on his return from the U.S.A., the bistro today is known for its Hawaiian salads, Italian steak sizzlers, Chicken foot long and Italian pasta, apart from Double roasted chilly chicken, Chicken in lemon sauce, Roasted lamb with mushroom sauce and Szechwan rice. "We offer a healthy dose of Continental and Chinese cuisine and some kebabs. Initially, we started with a take-away concept offering food that is non-messy for the person who is on the move. But the regulars wanted a seating option as well," says Jagan.

FAST FOOD: Hot dogs to drive away the damp.

So, the place is not just famous for the take away and service in the car, but also the refreshing informal seating in a peaceful boulevard. "We have a lot of walk-in regular clients from Hi-Tec city who like to grab a bite on the way. Club sandwiches and Mutton hot dogs are sure filling when teamed with a milk shake, for instance, while Waldorf or Hawaiian salads make for a light dinner. Also we have a lot of foreigners in the vicinity who appreciate the cuisine. The Chicken stroganoff with saffron rice is the bland option from the Conti spread if you find the conventional biryani spicy. We also offer home delivery in Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills and take up party orders too," he says.

While you are in this part of the town the next time around, `On The Way' (11 a.m.-11 p.m.), can be your one-stop shop for `Lite bites' — Potato wedges and grilled sandwiches, soups, exotic salads and a main course — rotis and Tandoori mint chicken, American chopsuey or Cheese macaroni, the list is endless. Top it up with Chocolate or Pineapple soufflé, Date pancake or yummy Brownies. Or choose to take away your favourite dishes for a quiet supper at home. You can reach `On The Way' — Green Square, Plot No. 1133, adjacent to Trinetra Supermarket, Road No. 36, Jubilee Hills — on Tel: 23543532, 23545885.
