The dark side of desire...

BEAUTY AT HER BEST: Rekha reserved her best for lucky few shutterbugs but drew a lakshmanrekha for those with a pen. Photos: Sandeep Saxena.

WHAT YOU do reflects in what you speak. So, the cast of "Bhoot" was in spirits when they haunted New Delhi's Le Meridien to celebrate their kill at the box-office. And leading the pack was the tart diva, Rekha, whose caustic remarks made one feel as if media and movie moguls share a relationship of "Do Anjaane". Expected to shed light on the `other world' considering her twin experience - only one in the star cast - once each with a Ramsay kind in "Jaani Dushman" and the devil with a human face-type in "Mangalsutra" the lady, who refuses to age, failed to come down to earth from stellar heights, never mind her stars, of late have even refused to twinkle.

Ask about her dark side, she retorts, "Everybody has a dark side." Mould the query, Madam X parrots out her dark assets, "My eyes are black, my hair is black and I have a mole," proving the cliché that a beauty is meant to be seen and not heard, true. Need more proof? The "Silsila" did not stop with words, she allowed the shutterbugs to click her chattels in her room but for people with pens, she pulled her shutters down.

We know that she is a director's actress and quite possessive about her past but she should speak her mind to people, who are ready to know her world beyond her `Silsila' with the `Anjaana'. She should come out candid with people who know their `rekha'.
