The loop pool

This season, the "loop" taking off from the indigenous baali is seen high on style charts. The loop adds personal style to any garment and sailing strong is loops with an ethnic touch.

TODAY FASHION expresses itself in an emphatically individualistic way. With every season, it sets itself apart from old stereotypes with new ideas and new style concepts. The boldest expressions of these new ideas are found in accessories.

Accessories are an important bit player, enhancing the overall look of any fashion item. This season, the "loop" taking off from the indigenous baali is seen high on style charts. The loop has broken all barriers between ages and has acquired the status of "year of all, ear of all."

The loop adds personal style to any garment. Sailing strong are loops with an ethnic touch. Loops in silver and white metal with a bunch of bead like balls suspended to dangle are atop the current fashion calendar. Also, transparent glass beads and Bengal beads strung through white metal create an element of interest when they dangle and allow light to pass through them.

These loops switch looks effortlessly. This story could be adopted in an ethnic backdrop say with salwar kameez or sari or even with short kurtis and slim fit pants. The same narration could be valid for a deep blue or a dirty denim story. Slip into block printed kurtis with a kimono like cross over front with denim capris or calf length skirts and team it all with the white metal loops. You have it all that takes to create oomph this summer.

The over riding influence of Feng Shui sees non-functional embossing of Feng Shui patterns on both silver and white metal. The girlie-look is highlighted with medium sized loops in metal coated with glitter. Butterflies, stars, triangular and conical links and spirals echo lot of fun this season.

Half loops in gold with the closure fitment as a back screw are also doing well. Do not forget that this is the season of colours. Coloured balls in ruby, emerald, pearl and sapphire could be changed to match your outfit thereby lending you style and versatility through the week. This look could be sophisticated yet girlie, trendy yet ageless.

The summer calendar reflects experimentation with the basic shirt in styling as well as colour schemes. The half loops with colourful balls best supplement your shirts at work; over a business luncheon or evening cocktails.

Even for grand occasions set against an Indian backdrop, the loop in precious and semi-precious stones is the right choice this season. The diameter of the loop could be selected as per liking but keeping in mind the individual face cut.

With a big face type, go in for medium sized loops as too big and too small a diameter would only make your face look bigger. For a small face type, opt for loops that have more beads suspended vertically as this would give a vertical accent to your face thereby making it appear longer. On a small neck, vertical bead suspension over a loop could be hazardous.

The desire for self-expressive adornment continues to give rise to extraordinary samples. The loop pool dazzles and dangles this season. Forming an essential part of the look or rather completing the look, the loop makes a powerful fashion statement. Are you ready?
