NO RETAKES: Mahesh Babu
DIRECTOR TEJA, who made stars out of many unknown faces, is keen on promoting at least 10 new faces in his future films. He did this in almost all his films and in Nijam he is introducing nearly 20 artistes. He finds immense pleasure in bringing to surface the dormant talent in a person and shaping him or her into an artiste. To get the best out of them, Teja literally acts before the shot and there have been instances of him losing temper with them. Even while shooting for Nijam he is believed to have slapped an artiste but he wants to keep the identity of the artiste a secret at least till the movie is released. However, while directing Mahesh Babu in Nijam, Teja says that at times he had doubts about his ability as a director. "Mahesh Babu acts with ease without any retakes, making me wonder whether I was doing my job right. Mahesh Babu is a very competent and cooperative actor. But when it came to the new faces my doubts were cleared as I was again shouting at them to get the best. While on Nijam, Teja does not want to talk much about the film. Neither is he keen on discussing his or Mahesh Babu's abilities as a director and actor respectively. "It is the audience, that decide the fate of a movie. Any amount of pre-release hype will not help a movie at the box office," he adds. However, Teja will be the first director to introduce Dolby EX surround system in the Telugu film industry. This is a new format being introduced in Nijam.
